A crowd favourite at the Bhakti Marga Bhajan Cafe, The Ashram’s chai will warm you up from the inside out and give you that extra boost you need in the morning or after-lunch slump – or basically anytime.

KNOW YOUR SPICES

Improves Digestion – all of the spices in chai have gentle warming properties that can help ease a troubled stomach or improve overall digestion. 
Clears Your Mind – cardamom and star anise have all been used to help clear fog from the mind and promote clarity and focus. 
Cold Aid – the warmth of these spices may also promote recovery from the aches, chills, and fevers from the common cold.

MAKE IT AT HOME

What You’ll Need

400 ml water
10 crushed cardamom pods
5 crushed black peppercorns
2 cinnamon sticks
½ star anise
5 cm fresh ginger, chopped or grated
3-5 Tbs sugar
5 Tbs black tea
1200 ml oat milk

Step by Step

  1. Add water, spices, and sugar to a pan
  2. Simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally
  3. Add the oat milk
  4. Let it simmer again, stirring occasionally
  5. Pour, serve, enjoy
